FAQs
Where are you based?
I’m based in West Sussex and Surrey however the majority of my sessions take place in my clients homes which means I can work anywhere they are. I love to visit your houses and capture real lifestyle images of you in the space you're most comfortable so feel free to ask me to travel to wherever you are. I'm also happy to venture into the great outdoors and join you on a family walk!
What happens if rain is forecast on the day of our session and we are supposed to shoot outdoors?
Well, one thing I can't control is the weather, so I will be studying the forecast before our session, if it's set for torrential downpour I will offer to reschedule your shoot or we can find an alternative venue. If it just a bit of drizzle then I'm game if you are!
What is the difference between Low, Medium and High Resolution Digital Files?
Low resolution files are only for use on the web, if you try and print them out they will be pixelated and bad quality, and I mean bad!
Medium resolution images can be printed well up to size 7x5 inches, if you print anything bigger the image will be poor quality and that's really not what you or I want.
High resolution images are formatted to print out at any size you like really, happy days!
What do we wear for our session?
I like you to be as comfortable as possible, having said that huge logos on your clothes can be pretty distracting so perhaps take a little while to get together some outfits that compliment each other as well as the setting you are being photographed in. I always suggest neutrals to start and work from there. Ultimately you need to be you though so if that means lairy logos and bright colours then I'm all in!
What happens once I have booked my session?
After I you have sent back the booking proposal and signed my contract I will send you a link to an online portal containing all the relevant information for you to access anytime you like.
We’d like to spread the cost, do you offer payment schemes?
Yes. The images I take for you are an investment. I completely understand that paying up front especially for some of my top packages and products is a huge commitment financially, so in order to make it a bit easier for you I am happy to offer payment schemes. Generally this is done by splitting the payment into 3 or 4 more manageable chunks. Just call me or pop me an email and we can work something out.
Do you offer Prints and Albums?
Yes. I have spent a long time sourcing some beautiful products to compliment my images, from fine art prints to bespoke handmade frames. I'd be happy to send you a full price list or chat through any options with you. Alternatively you can click HERE for a look at my products pricelist.
How long do your sessions last?
Family portrait sessions can last anywhere between 45 minutes and 2 hours, it depends on the location and the weather. Maternity sessions usually last about an hour, while Baby sessions require me to work fast so allow 30 minutes to an hour. Newborns can be less predictable so allow anywhere from 1 to 3 hours as we need to incorporate feeding, changing and settling times.
When is the best time to get Maternity photos done?
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
I don’t really like having my picture taken, what can you do to help?
Older children and adults can feel quite exposed and vulnerable in front of a camera, I do my utmost to keep you relaxed and will guide you when necessary. Quite often I'm photographing you interacting with each other so the need to stare straight into the lens for too long is rare. I will help you pose in a flattering way if you need though so you don't have images that make you cringe.
Can I bring family members along to my sessions?
Sure, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned. I would however mention that the more people means less time for me to capture you. This is an investment so be mindful who you invite to join you.
How long after my session can I see my gallery?
You need to allow between 2 and 3 weeks for me to process your images and load them onto your private online gallery. Just before your gallery goes online you will be sent a link to your highlights which is in the form of a slideshow set to music. Hopefully by the time you have seen this your full gallery will have been uploaded and available to view.
How many photos will I get?
For portrait sessions anywhere between 35 and 150 images, for weddings you can expect at least 500 and probably more.
Will you post my images on Social Media?
I will never post anything on social media without your permission to do so. I thoroughly respect your right to privacy. If you agree to me using your images for social media marketing I would probably post them to Facebook or Instagram but only with your full permission. If you post my images on social media please be sure to tag me as I love to see how far they can reach!
Are you insured?
Yes. I have full public liability insurance. I am also DBS checked.
